GroceryWiz In the Kitchen
I recently bought a laptop, an HP Pavillion. It's a nice system but I'm still getting used to running the new Microsoft Vista operating system on it.
I usually keep the laptop on the kitchen counter since it's easier to get to when I need it, looking up directions, recipes, coupons, phones numbers. You get the idea.
Since my laptop is easily available in the kitchen I stared entering items into GroceryWiz immediately when I run out of them. For example, as I'm making toast, I'm scraping for the last few morsels of butter at the bottom of the bowl. I stop my fruitless effort and I walk over to the laptop, enter butter into GroceryWiz and go back to scraping. It only takes a minute but the payoff is at the end of the week when I'm ready to go shopping.
Instead of rummaging through the fridge and cabinets, I already have a lot of items that I need entered into my list. I still make a quick pass to make sure I haven't forgotten anything, but it's a lot less likely that I have since I've been entering items as I run out of them.
Just a little tip for those who have a laptop always close at hand.
